Sustainable Development Goals Take to the Streets of Loughrea
SDG cubes bring sustainability and the 17 Global Goals into the heart of the community
The Sustainable Development Goals have been brought into the heart of Loughrea through a series of colourful SDG cubes and displays around the town.
The project aims to raise awareness of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals and encourage the local community to think about how we can all contribute to a more sustainable future.
As part of the wider project, 17 wooden SDG boxes were created by Loughrea Men's Shed and placed around the town, with individual goals connected to locations and activities within the community.
Smaller SDG cubes have also been used around Loughrea, including at the library, local schools and the Credit Union, helping to introduce the goals to people of all ages.
The cubes on Pigott Street are another visible reminder of the importance of sustainability and the role that communities can play in working towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
Loughrea Tidy Towns is delighted to support initiatives that encourage greater awareness of sustainability, biodiversity and the future of our town.
